🔠 Bra Size vs Cup Size: The Difference Most People Miss

A bra size has TWO parts — a band number and a cup letter. Knowing only one half is not enough.

The band number

The band is the chest measurement (US/UK in inches, EU in cm). It is the most important number for support.

The cup letter

The cup is the volume of breast tissue. It is calculated by subtracting under-bust from bust.

Why both must match together

A 34D and 32DD have the same cup volume, but one fits a smaller rib-cage. Always match BOTH to your body.

Is the band size the same as my chest size?
In modern fitting, yes. Round under-bust to nearest even inch (US/UK) or nearest 5cm (EU).
