Why Weight Matters for Bra Fit
A correctly fitting bra carries 80% of breast weight on the band and only 20% on the straps. When the band is loose, the straps end up doing all the lifting — leading to shoulder grooves, neck pain, and headaches. The heavier the breasts, the more the band fit matters.
Heavy Breasts and Long-Term Health
Carrying 3–4 lb on each shoulder strap all day is the equivalent of holding a small dumbbell. Over years, this stresses the trapezius muscles and causes chronic shoulder and upper-back pain. A properly fitting D+ bra with a wide band and structured cup eliminates almost all of this.
