Why Bra Sizes Differ Around the World

Every region developed its own bra-sizing convention. The US and UK measure bands in inches but use different cup letters past D. Continental Europe and Japan use centimetres for the band. Australia uses a single number tied to dress sizes. Brazil uses numeric cups instead of letters.

The band number is the same in inches. The cup letter changes past D — US uses DD, DDD; UK uses E, F, FF.

How do I convert US to EU bra size?

Multiply your US band by 2.54 to get cm, then round to the nearest 5. The EU cup uses single letters past D — A, B, C, D, E, F (no DD).

How do I convert AU to US bra size?

Add 22 to your AU band number to get the US band. Cup letters mostly match, with UK-style differences past D.

Are JP bra sizes the same as EU?

How does Brazilian sizing work?
